By using TourneyRook you agree to these terms. If you are using it on behalf of a club or organization, you agree on their behalf too.
TourneyRook is software for organizing and following chess tournaments. It is in active development: features may change, appear or be withdrawn as the product matures, and availability is not yet guaranteed.
Accounts are created by signing in with Google. The display name you confirm appears on pairing sheets and public standings — use a name the people in your club will recognise. You are responsible for activity under your account.
Paddle is our reseller and merchant of record. When you subscribe, your contract for that purchase is with Paddle, they appear on your statement rather than us, and they process refunds. You can raise anything about a payment with them or with us — we will not send you back and forth.
You can try everything that matters before paying. The free plan runs unlimited over-the-board tournaments and keeps their results forever. A paid plan raises the player limit and adds arbiters and online events; it does not unlock the thing you came for. That is deliberate, and it is why the policy below is short rather than generous.
Cancel whenever you like. Your plan then runs to the end of the period you have already paid for and stops. We do not bill you again and we do not refund the remainder of a period you are still using. Nothing is deleted when a plan ends — your tournaments and their results stay, and the account returns to the free plan’s limits.
Fourteen days, no reason needed. Monthly or yearly, first payment or a renewal you had forgotten was coming — if you change your mind within fourteen days of a charge, ask and we will refund it in full.
If something went wrong, we refund it. Charged twice, charged after you cancelled, charged for a plan you never got — that is our mistake and you get your money back, inside or outside any window. If the service is materially broken for a period you paid for, tell us and we will make it right.
None of this reduces rights you have by law. Depending on where you live you may have a statutory right to cancel a recent purchase, and where that right is wider than this policy, it wins.
To ask for a refund, email support@tourneyrook.com with the email address you paid with. We answer refund requests within five working days.
If you organize an event, you are responsible for having permission to list its participants by name, for the accuracy of the results you enter, and for how you share the event’s public spectator link.
Don’t misuse the service: no attempts to break or overload it, no impersonating other people, no entering content that is unlawful or abusive, and no scraping other people’s personal data from it.
Your tournament data remains yours. You grant us the licence needed to store it, process it and display it — that is what the product does. How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
Online games may be arranged through third-party chess platforms. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms, not ours.
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Chess results recorded in TourneyRook are records kept by the event’s organizer, not official ratings data.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TourneyRook is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and its total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, for the free service, is nothing.
You can stop using TourneyRook at any time and request deletion of your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms.
If these terms change materially, we will update the date above. Continued use after a change means the new terms apply.
